A LETTER OF WARNING TO GOVERNOR UMAHI, ESN, BUHARI, AND HIS SOLDIERS

Good evening every one of you.

As the Biafran Remembrance Day beckons, we can see muscles flexing and waxing. They are waxing to shed innocent blood in parts of South-East tomorrow. Yes, we know this from past events. So, we can no longer be fooled.

We have pleaded with the feuding parties and it seems that the pleas are falling on deaf ears. Now, here is an open warning as a last resort. If any innocent blood is shed in any part of the South-East tomorrow or thereafter due to the action or inaction of any one of you flexing muscles, the punishment stated below will be meted out to you. Here below also, is stated why the four of you are being pointed out here as well as what you MUST do and why.

Let's get a bit more concrete and personal by starting this warning with a real-life story - one that is both familiar and immediate. It's a story about the dead COAS. In case you do not know, let me tell you what happened to the COAS. It's related to the Biafran Remembrance Day Celebration of 2021. The COAS was appointed specifically to deal with the South-East. They knew he was once the GOC of 82 Division Enugu. So, he knew the South-Eastern terrain very well. Yet, they had worse security challenges in the North but they never paid them so much attention. That tells you how much bad will that is really the issue here.

To make a long story short, the late COAS died on a trip to discuss unprofessional strategies for the South-East come this Biafra Day. He was to meet army chiefs in Kaduna and also liaise with Governor El-Rufai. But, the Angel of the Lord struck him with all his grand plans and some key members of his think-tank. There's no time on the Lord's hands for political correctness.

The above story is the reason Governor El-Rufai cried his heart out on the demise of the COAS. It's not because El-Rufai has a very golden heart that made him to weep so uncontrollably. And if he persists in his wicked plans, his family and friends will soon weep also.

I'm forced to tell you this story to warn every ONE of you who is too proud because you think you've got a lot of power now. I am reminding you that there is a HIGHER POWER, and it's very much around in the country now. Any bloodshed that can be avoided must be avoided both tomorrow and afterwards. If not, anyone who could have helped to avoid it but failed to do so, would see consequent punishment similar to what the dead COAS saw.

It's absolutely acceptable anywhere for any group of people to set out a day to honor the memory of their beloved departed souls. So, it's completely wrong for anyone to try to force the people of the defunct State of Biafra to not observe the Biafran Day in the quiet of their homes. You shouldn't do that, not in a democracy at least.

This is for you the Nigerian Government that may be battle-ready as usual. It's also particularly for you Governor Umahi of Ebonyi State who is acting like a despot by forcing people to go to their private businesses even at a possible risk to their lives - if past experiences are a guide. Always remember that the power you have is thoroughly transient. So, stop being this tyrannical in a government position described as democratic.

Nigerian governments at all levels must stop this hypocrisy. If you are still criminalizing the memory of the Biafran fallen heroes during the war, then, it's more than clear that Nigeria is only paying a lip service to the 3 Rs declared by the Gowon Administration at the end of the war in 1970. Otherwise, where is reintegration and reconciliation, talk less about reconstruction?

At the same time, it would be very wrong for anyone to try to force Biafrans to stay at home on the Biafran Day. If we do that, tell me where we are truly better than the Nigerians we criticize so much. We can't afford to fail as a Nation whenever Biafra becomes a reality. And, for us not to fail, we must do things radically differently from the country we want to secede from. So, let's not lay the foundation of the new nation on tyranny as it is in Nigeria. Allow Biafrans to observe the day voluntarily (out of pure love for our heroes and heroines past).

Let me tell you that Biafra is God's Own Project. So, from now, no one can fight her (whether from the outside or inside) and will not suffer dire consequences. At the same time, no one can be too important in the project. Otherwise, if you arrogate too much importance to yourself, - listen - you won't get to the Promise Land. If it happened to Great Moses of Israel, who are you to think that it can't happen to you?

Let's live and let live. God has made the world big enough to accommodate all of us. Let no one make our fallen heroes and heroines restless in their graves by killing those they left behind on the day that they are meant to be remembered specially. Those fighting to ward off enemy invaders, that's a very noble task. They should go on and focus on that rather than forcing the citizens to sit at home. The Nigerian governments should also focus on administering the highest good for the highest possible number of the citizens.

So, whether you are the President of Nigeria, a military commander or soldier working in the South-East, a governor, Nnamdi Kanu, or whoever, please, for your own good, allow the fear of God to guide you or the power you now exercise will soon - very soon - be taken from you and the Nebukadneza treatment meted out to you.

Sincerely,

Desmond Chinedu Nweke
